GW/NW-042 and 43

I know most people will know we have had “a bit of snow” in North Wales, but if you are thinking of any of the Clwydian hills or Moel y Gamelin or Cyrn-y-Brain then this photo from North Wales Police might be of interest. Was taken today when they finally managed to open the road from the north to at least the top of the pass. I believe it is still blocked on the south side and continuing to drift.

Sorry - facebook again…

Snowshoes or skis would be essential - drifts of two and three metres in places. Fun if you have the right kit and skills.

I’ve had an “interesting” weekend of Mountain Rescue around here. Nothing “mountain” related as such though.

Never mind skis and snowshoes - if the Ponderosa isn’t serving lunch then there’s no point activating these two anyway.

Brilliant Tom, brilliant. That one did make me laugh. The’re a resilient lot up there so I suspect they’ll be itching to re-open soon.
