Hope you get good weather for your 4 summits today including Seaforth Island GM/SI-192 . Don’t forget to all wear life jackets. We looked at it from the main road a few years ago but not time/energy to find out about access. Looks as if you will have a busy day! Doubt if I’ll get you from G/WB-014

Good Luck Ben - by the time you read this I’m sure you will have had quite an adventure and if it all goes to plan will have made a significant dent in the number of unactivated summits. Hope it went well (Given your plan I don’t think you will be doing much reading today). Just two more on Parc left then… 73 Paul (I’ll be dusting off the CW if it is needed for a QSO…)
Perfect Jet Ski territory.
Possibly even heavier than a lucky Anvil???
Ben is on his way to his last Alerted summit and is making good progress. He has had to postpone his 2nd and 3rd summit as the wind picked up and the kayaking would have become difficult and dangerous.

Think Ben may have aborted the last summit as well as tracking shows him going back down.
I think you’re right, Allan, I noticed he appeared to have bailed out & heading back.
Ben tells me the wind picked up, with a deteriorating forecast, and the kayak guide was unwilling to continue with the plan.
This appeared on my local newspaper website.
Thank You Ben, for the very good Video. Well done. Excellent news in RadCom that you are now an RSGB Board Director. This can only be a good thing for all Radio Enthusiasts. Best wishes to You Ben 73 de Paul M0CQE.
Many thanks Viki for starting this thread. It is already very interesting and may well become more so. 73 de Paul M0CQE.
I had the same problem when I tried to activate Seaforth island in July. I ended up having a lovely day on Chaipaval instead.

I see that Ben successfully activated 2 new summits today. Many congratulations. He was obviously very busy with 34 contacts (5 on 60m and 29 on 40m) on GM/SI-126 Uisiens and 21 contacts (17 on 40m and 4 on 2m ) on GM/SI-078 Gormol. Which was more difficult- reaching the first summit or pronouncing it?? The other question is, of course, what’s next?? Well done. Be careful tomorrow, Ben, I see that Storm Agnes is coming to visit you - and much of the mainland.

Edit I have now got the summits in the right order! Looks as if it was a long walk and a lot of contours.l it is always a snag when you start at sea level or very close
Yes Viki! Lots of friendly locals on 2m on Skye and the Outer Hebrides. You need to get yourself out there.
Been there, done that - and even bagged myself a unique (by feet and not a kayak!) Check my log!!

Hi Vicki, many thanks for creating this thread - I hope yourself and Rod are keeping well! I haven’t been able to look at much social media, this is down to time and signal but I’ve just logged on now. I will be putting all my routes up in my report and how I’ve managed to get across the islands, mainly my legs!
All I can say is - I know why these summits have never been activated in over 20 years! Hi.
If you want to track my progress, here is my Garmin GPS link - I’m having a rest day today but should be back on the move tomorrow (Thursday 27th):
The password is: GW4BML (case sensitive)
Also thank you to everyone for your support and above comments keep calling in.
It would be great if we did make a qso - more alerts will go up later today, so keep an eye on SOTAwatch.
Best regards,
Ben

While I’ve been up in London for 2 nights it looks as if you’ve been busy Ben and another 2 new summits have been roused from their slumber. This time it was first GM/SI-088, Caiteshal 449m with 9 on 60m, 18 on 40m and 1 on 2m a total of 28 in just over 30 mins. Then it was a fairly quick scamper to GM/SI-136, Cipeagil Bheag (more pronounciation challenges for you!) 336m with 41 on 40m and 1 on 2m (MM3MBL once more) in 40 mins. These contacts finished at 0939 UTC - so what did you do with the rest of the day?? That’s 6 new summits in the bag -’ well done’ doesn’t seem to sound adequate!

And yet another one today GM/SI-112, Beinn Mheadhonach - 397m yet another unique. However THIS time he had an escort as Martha joined him and bagged her first SOTA summit with the brand new MM3MBL call sign. See Ben’s post ‘Congratulations Martha MM3MBL/p…’ for further details. Many congratulations to both of them - obviously just the start of a great series of joint SOTA activations and we won’t have to wait long as they are alerted for GM/SI-156 at 0930 UTC tomorrow (Sunday). Keep them coming!

It’s now Monday 1 October and there is no stopping them! This time it is GM/SI-156, Beinn Mholach - 292m which has only been activated twice - and both of them today! I don’t think I need to mention the call signs. It looks as if Ben won the race again and, between them, they made 42 contacts (60m - 4, 40m - 32, 2m fm - 6). They seem to have a dedicated troop of chasers so it going to become a popular hill if they all decide they want a complete!
