as this is on the Island of Bute I was wondering why it is not listed under GM/SI ??

Ask Alan Dawson. He produced the original Marilyn listings and decided on their regional names such as Southern Scotland, Scottish Islands etc. We just use his work. With permission!

I saw Bills reference and thought he was on his way home and was likewise surprised when I heard him say he was on the island of Bute.

There are quite a few anomalies like this - this is “GM/ES” country but we have a scattering of CS and WS in amongst them and the logic is not obvious.
But - it is just a numbering system, so no sleep to be lost!
