Just in case anyone else would like to activate this pimple here is the low-down on the simplest access.
Leave Keith town and take the road which ends at a small parking area at NJ458494 near to the water treatment works. Do not be distracted at Mains of Auchoynanie which has a sign saying “Stratisla Pedigree Blondes” - the mind boggles! Ignore the obvious forest commission roadway and head straight up the hill where a new path is marked by a green marker post with a blue stripe. This path takes a dogleg across a forest road but otherwise is a direct (and, in places, very well made) track to the summit trig point.
Great day for an activation and radio conditions were excellent; excellent views from the top allowing you to play spot the SOTA summit too!
