Nice choice of hills today, all much wanted by me, I’m sorry I missed you by just 30 minutes on the third one as I wanted that too. Hope to work you from as many of your next 100 as possible.

Well done Frank. Just a few more to go to get your goat now!!!
Many thanks for the S2S today…you were a super signal on 80m.

Yes, well done Frank on all your efforts - my log shows that you have given me 26 different summits from G and GW (am sure more experienced chasers will have many more!).
Sri no 80m CW from SW-030 - heard you being chased off 3.725 by a G4 (some people are very feudal over their QRGs!).

Remember: E equals I x R is not just a good idea. It is THE LAW!
In reply to GM4FAM:
To be fair, the frequency was already in use by the homebrew net on SSB to which I happened to be listening at the time. Frank called QRL? on CW and then started calling CQ SOTA. A member of the homebrew net called Frank on CW and told him there was already an SSB QSO on the frequency.
Frank, being a perfect gentleman, came on SSB and apologised for not hearing the net as he had his narrow CW filter switched in, after which he QSYd.
So, not a question of anyone being feudal, the frequency was simply already in use.
Franks behaviour in realising this, apologising and QSYing stands as an example of true gentlemanly conduct in the spirit of amateur radio to which we can all aspire.

Apologies Chris and Mick for not coming up again on cw yesterday after my ‘clash’ with the homebrew net. I checked for frequency occupancy 1.4 KHz below their net frequency, had no response, and called cq. I thought the 3 KHz available to them would have been sufficient, but obviously not. Anyway I found the experience rather offputing, so went QRT.
Thank you all for the kind thoughts on uniques. I think John (BVE) is understating the remaining task in attaining MG. Just the simple acquisition of nearly 400 points!
Thank you again for the kind thoughts.
In reply to G3RMD:
Sorry Frank, I think a simple miscalculation may be to blame here:
Unfortunately, as the net uses lower sideband, 1.4kHz below the net frequency puts your CW signal in the middle of the 3kHz passband of their receivers, producing a beat note of 1.4kHz. (This corresponds with what I heard at the time).
You would have to be at least 3kHz below or slightly above the net frequency to avoid causing QRM.
Very easy to do, especially when mixing CW & SSB, they don’t get on well together at the best of times!
Congratulations from myself & Eleri MW3NYR on your uniques.

You are right of course Ian as I quickly found out when I did the calculations after I posted. I should engage brain before keyboard!. Thank you for the good wishes from you both. The plus side is that I now know of the homebrew net and I will enjoy listening to it and may even join in! legitimately of course.
73 to you both,
Frank G3RMD
In reply to G3RMD:
Hi Frank
Congrats. from me also, well done, it set me wondering how many of the 100 I managed to work you on but I cannot filter my contacts out, I guess I managed quite a few!
I look forward to many more.
