Managed to get G/TW-002 activated on Sunday on the way up to Hartlepool. Parked at the Lord Stones car park and made the nice gentle walk up in good time.
I got set up at top and sorted. FT857, 2m antenna on 6m mast.
I was going to spot, but decided to see how the activation would go without doing so.
Calling CQ on 145.500 bagged myself 11 UK contacts. Then on 145.500 I heard LA7PSA/p calling. Not holding out much hope of working the station, I replied back and I was heard.
QSY’d to 145.525 and we made contact. 59 both ways - I was quite happy with that, so much that I decided to record the QSO and put my first SOTA video on YouTube. LA7PSA was also going to the same. 750km on 2m! First european contact on 2m while doing SOTA.

All in all a good hill. Food from the Lord Stones cafe was also rather nice - would go again.
