NP more suitable for me too, closer for me too

I think the idea is to have an SP event AND an NP event.
The SP event back in 2006 was an S2S event and I think Ian @G7ADF was hoping to try to recreate it.
The NP event is looking as though it might be modelled on the LD events - more of a general activity event- pick a hill and band / mode to suit yourself.

Ah I see, I didn’t quite think that was the format for the event. Not to worry, I’m still interested in it! Would be a good chance to get some completes. I did mention the SP event to folk at the Halifax Club as a way to support people doing SOTA or /P stuff for the first time. An S2S event may be a bit much for newbies, though. If there was an NP general activity event, that may be more appropriate. (Anyway, although there was general interest, I’m not too sure how many are willing to actually go up a hill!)

I found the summit quite nice but the hike from Jubliee Tower was too boggy.
Apparently there’s a better, drier, shorter route from Tarnbrook?
Depending on dates, I would be interested in both the SP and NP event.

Not really, there will be plenty of opportunity before / after the main S2S period for general SOTA activity and still pick up some S2S action, which would be great for newbies.

I’ve been busy elsewhere the past few days so not got back to this thread, but it has allowed me to gather some information. It seems there are no 145 Alive events at in May or June so could avoid the clash there.
I was going to propose a Sunday in 2026 from the ones below. However, I am aware the GW Hog Roast normally takes place on a weekend in June and since that is a well established event and would reduce the activator pool, that weekend would be avoided. Same thing goes for the G/NP event. If the person arranging that has a date then let me know and I’ll change things up a bit (I’d like to take part in the NP event too)

Times of the inter-summit round robin would be around 11:00 BST (10:00 UTC).
I am willing to go with the majority on this one so will leave this open. If any of the dates clash with other major VHF activities then we can look at excluding that date.
Rather than a poll if potential activators could post their preferred date, any date/s they cannot do and their chosen summit and I will try to work out from the replies the optimum date and construct a table. I am fairly confident that if more than 1 person want to activate the same summit then it wouldn’t be a problem. If 20 people all want to do Billinge Hill (understandably) then I have no problem.
Whilst I do have a preferred date it wont be included in working out the actual date unless there is a tie.
To summarise, unless a date change wouldn’t be a problem, due to the caveats listed above regarding Hog Roast and NP events, I would refrain from posting for now, but I will update with more known information as and when it becomes available. I would probably look at constructing the initial table by Christmas but obviously things may change after that.

NP 19/20 September 2026. At the moment any of the dates would work for me and I would like to do Kinder SP-001 which was a regular haunt in pre-Sota days.
