Nothing major in that - I’m sure it’s been done many times before. And they truly are “Southern Softie” summits! But it’s the first time I have done this whole region within a calendar year.
I have been getting close in recent years, with these summits receiving a disproportionately high level of attention from me due to the distribution of my gigs. And in 2018, I activated all 13 of the mainland summits. I was at that stage again this morning, with several of them activated more than once this year. Anyway, I took the plunge and got a cheap return ferry deal online, so I could activate the two Isle of Wight summits before driving home to Cheshire.
The pastie, chips and beans lunch on the Red Funnel Ferry was rather good too.
