Yep, same here… but my spare is only 40/20. My usual one is 60/40/20.
If that’s with careful handling since its last use, that’s bad luck. I really like the simplicity, efficiency, small volume and light weight of my linked dipoles but there are quite a few points of failure waiting to happen.
For example, take my 60/40/30/20 linked dipole: it has 12 solder joints on the 12 croc clips and another two to the solder tags on the 1:1 balun. Even though I use separate guy strings for the 7m pole (so that the antenna wires can be a little loose) the battering of GM/SS and G/LD winds must have stressed those joints over many activations.
Nowadays I tend to take my low-maintenance Cha MPAS Lite which is designed for rough handling (by man and the elements).
