Last one today. G/LD-044 High Rigg.
Thanks to all the chasers on 40m and 20m SSB. 2M FM yielded exactly 0 contacts despite 20W and a decent antenna.
Great to get so many regulars on this final unique.
Special thanks to Derek 2E0MIX for coming out to join me.
333 summits in total.
I really only properly got “stuck in” trying to finish the lot about 3 years ago… then the pandemic struck.
Best one… can’t pick. Mostly it would be the weather that singles one out. So the brilliant inversion and Fog Bow on Fountains Fell G/NP-017 takes some beating.
So good to get you yesterday and be 4th in your log to qualify the summit for you…you had a brilliant pileup on 40m😁. A big ‘well done’ to Sue who has been with you on so many of those summits. It was also good to get Derek 2E0MIX in my log.
Welcome to the all G/GW activator club Gerald, and well-deserved congratulations. Especially good to see that you got your four contacts and the point from Swinside G/LD-057 despite the severe limitations of your wkg cndx up there!
Best/worst/hardest/easiest?
Mine are something like:
Best: Cadair Berwyn GW/NW-012
Worst: Crowborough G/SE-007
Hardest: Tryfan GW/NW-006 or Upper Park GW/MW-032 depending on context!
Easiest: The Cloud G/SP-015 (as it’s the quickest to access from the home QTH). The several drive-ons are physically easier, but may require a long drive, a ferry crossing, or not have the nicest environment or decent take-off. So overall The Cloud is the easiest one for me.
I look forward to you joining us in the all G/GW/GD/GI/GJ/GU Club in due course! Sadly don’t envisage being able to add GM to that. I don’t think I have enough life left - and that might be further curtailed if I attempted certain SOTA summits up there
Well done Gerald.
It was great to meet up with you, Sue and Derek in Keswick on Wednesday.
I tried to make your log for High Rigg on Thursday but failed. I enjoyed listening to so many people I now call friends in your pile up anyway.
Congratulations
