G 40 meters open

just been listening to Mark m0nom/p upon G- LD/056,
working big pile up on 40 meters,
been a long time since the band has been open.

There have been good G openings on 40m for a while. I have UK SOTAs in my log on this band going back 5-6 months, likewise there have been reasonably consistent WAB nets on 40m for some months now.

Amazing on 40m today - as you would expect it took some finding a free frequency. I had 49 contacts on 40m the vast majority Inter-G. Fantastic.

I’ll do a full report in due course… thanks to everyone for making it a special day.

Me too and somewhat excited.

During the recent ARRL DX contest I worked Africa and EU voice from my home QTH for the first time ever.

I’m flanked to the east by hills that generally make EU really hard but cycle 25, 500w and a HexBeam made all the difference……we live in hope!!

Hi Paul, I have a similar power o/p and antenna you are using too. Driven by Kenwood 990 at 25 w in.
