Hello
If everything runs out, ok between 15 and 16 UTC I will activate for the first time ever, CU/TE-004, Pico do Facho in Monte Brasil, Terceira Island, Azores (205m and 1 point).
Will run 10w into a 6m Pro Whip, mostly CW.
Hope to work you all.

Joao, it’s nice to be able to welcome The Azores officially to SOTA. All the data for the association has been uploaded to the database and SOTAwatch has been updated CU summits can be spotted and alerted. The ARM is also in place.
Best of luck with the 1st activation.
Excellent news. Good luck with the first activation – 73, Rick M0LEP
Hi Joao
Thanks for a new country and congratulations. You had a great signal into North Yorkshire today.

Hi all
Was fun to operate with low power, just 10w, a battery and a Pro Whip. Ten was open and I made a lot of contacts. No QRM nor QRN. Cristal clean frequencies.
Unfortunately, I lost the first sheet of contacts due to a wind blow and couldn’t get it back. I ask those that have worked me until I QRX (± 1535Z) to send me the QSO details so I can upload those contacts into the database and also send them to eQSL.
My e-mail: cu3aa.azores@gmail.com
I apologize for that and next time I will take the notebook with me lol lol.
So 73 to you all and hope to activate another summit soon.
CU3AA, Joao
Hi Joao
Well done on the first Azores activation…CW again, I’m not complaining but some might! Congratulations on your success and thanks to the MT and all concerned in adding Azores to the SOTA Countries list. A DX SOTA country for all chasers!
After being out hiking all day I just got home in time for a QSO, part of this list:
73 and here’s to many more QSOs in the coming years!

Hi Phil
Appreciate your mail.
Although I work mostly CW, on my activations, and leave SSB for my other local friends, I will work on SSB next time.
I thought the weather window forecast would let me be there more time and work more bands and modes but the weather changed rapidly, the wind and rain came up and I had to switch off earlier than I expected.
Hope to work you again next time.

Joao,
Obrigado for the QSO today at 15.47 on 10m and an “all time new” for me.

Hello Joao,
Thanks very much for coming onto 20M SSB (CU/TE-003) today.
My apologies for my report - huge radar pulses for me from somewhere hence the R38-39. There was no copy at all on 28Mhz CW here in SE UK.
Mike
Good sigs on 24Mhz
Pete
“Good sigs on 24Mhz”…
Well done you Pete.
