Carine (HB9FZC) and I had started our SOTA-Summervacation 2020 on 18.July. In the meantime we could activate 24 summits in the beautiful Swiss Alps - 7 of them were above 3’000m a.s.l. and 6 of them all were First-activations
On the Spitzhorn, HB/VS-256 we’ve produced our first SOTA-Video in English language, in which we show you Step-by-step how to come on-air on the summit - a click to the picture brings you to the video - have fun!
This afternoon we will start for our next SOTA-adventure - so meet you soon in the next QSO
Very impressive, both the activation and the video.
Question - any reason why you use the add on counterpoise jack instead of the built in one on the KX2?
Your endurance is extraordinary, and your appetite for summits seems insatiable! Congratulations on all these (first) activations. Enjoy the rest of summer!
Hi René, and thanks for your compliment according to our opinion the standard-Bananaplug is the more flexible solution: So we can use one thigh of HB9NBGs SOTA-Dipol as counterpoise, when we use the AX1/AXE1. It’s very easy to handle like this, and you don’t have to use different counterpoises for the different telescopic-antennas - you need only the KX2, the AX1/AXE1 and HB9NBGs SOTA-Dipol, and you will be successful on every summit environment very quickly Have also a look at our big report about our SOTA-Summer-activities, on which we’ve used this solution.
Great to see how you have explored the magic scenery of Carine’s home state Valais HB/VS – only flying could be better. Congratulations on your successful tour!
Wooow, really great your congratulations - many thanks to you all
HB9DIZ it’s everytime a big adventure to find new Firstactivations in Carines Canton VS, and we already look forward to the next Summer 2021
It’s part of your happiness that the HB/VS region offers that many summits that have NOT been activated so far – so choose and enjoy! . . . and don’t forget the bonus period, hi.
