Evening activation + 10m = DX

Nice activation this evening from the nearest SOTA summit from home (SP/SP-001, ~30 minutes drive).

The 10m band was wide open to the USA at around 17 GMT; I got a mini pile-up from fellow american hams with my KX2 and EFHW (TNX @WB6POT @W6LEN @W2WCC @W4GO @N4EX @N4LAG + @G4OBK @F4WBN ).

WX: cold but no snow (no winter points either at this altitude!).

Thank you for a new summit. You had a very nice signal here in Southern California. Great to have you in my log…

Looks like a lovely spot and beautiful evening. In the last month I have had lot of DX success on 10 meters between 15 and 18 utc. Also good on 12m, 15m,17m and 20 m.

The 3rd photo is stunning! If it’s genuinely not photoshopped, or scanned from a Christmas card, then that is impressive work!

No “Photoshop” but some adjustements in Lightroom on a single raw file (shadows & white balance). It’s also the result of a decent camera (APS-C size sensor) and fantastic operator skills (just kidding, I am just a enthusiast).
