Apologies for the curtailed activation on EA6/MA-007 today; Puig d’Alfabia - 1067m. We walked up from sea level (Soller) and had a grand morning as the approach is quite exciting with good views. However, the summit was in cloud and as we topped out the rain started. We had inadequate clothing and shelter for the very wet conditions (rucksack was too small!) After making about a dozen QSOs I decided to abandon the activation as we were very wet, getting cold and the limestone rock around the trig station was surprisingly slippery and treacherous, and getting worse.
I’ll try to do better in future!
900th summit activation today though.
