Yesterday Marcial EA2BDS and me made a “short” activation at Urregarai, EA2/BI-031. Quite weird due to changing propagation conditions, but we both enjoyed the easy hike and amazing views at the summit.

Hi Mikel
I did some chasing yesterday with my new antenna in my QTH. I did not hear anybody for a while due to the nasty conditions, but managed to get Marcial and Jurij eventually with 10 Watts. Nice photos.

G day Angel the big solar flare has almost killed 40m here for the past few days and I had a mid week activation planed for months. So I went along anyhow because this summit is a hard one to get to and a chance 4wd ride with some radio techs doing other repeater work came up today. I went anyhow to catch a ride and do some adventure real 4 w d as a passenger on a rocky steep track. Anyhow the up side was I made 6 qso’s but I think it was my hardest summit to raise a qso, of my 3 40m qso’s I had to txt msg two local ham friends to get them on air and was lucky to jag the third and lucky some vk3’s were waiting on 20m for me after my second spot on SOTA watch. Great view back south and I could see maybe 7 other summits I activated during winter its a nice feeling to say “been there done that one”. 73 mate hope to chase you but my activating will be slow now until after our summer. de Ian vk5cz …
