Doug Scott - Talk

Doug Scott, the first Britain to climb Mount Everest and probably Britain’s greatest mountaineer is giving a talk in Stirling on 11th November 2007 at the Red Lion Hotel. The talk celebrates the 30th anniversary of first ascent of the Orge in the Karakorum by Scott and Bonnington. This was the exped that turned into an epic descent when on the first abseil from the summit Doug broke both ankles and later Chris broke two ribs and contracted pneumonia. The talk entitled ‘A Crawl Down the Orge’ documents the week long descent to base camp.

Having been to several talks by Doug Scott this should be an excellent evening and well worth attending if you live close to Stirling.

Tickets are available from Tiso Stirling 01786 464737 or you could ask me to get them if you are interested.

I am not sure. The event is sponsored by Tiso so if you have a local branch ask them if he is taking in your area.
