Five years ago, our colleague and friend Pedro Carvalho, CT1DBS | CU3HF (SK), passed away. His passion for the mountains and for radio communication and beyond remains intrinsically alive in our hearts.

His dedication and love of adventure inspires us to keep going, exploring every landmark, every summit, with enthusiasm and determination, with the desire to connect with the world, surrounded by nature, peace and quiet, as he did with such enthusiasm and commitment, particularly in CW mode, his passion all along.

We feel his presence in every peak we conquer and every signal we receive, his memory will always be present and will never fade.

With affection and nostalgia, we remember our dear colleague, Pedro Carvalho CT1DBS | CU3HF (SK).

In his honor, we will be active during the weekends of May 10-11 | 17-18 2025, respectively, and a special callsign will be on the air in his honor, under the name CR5DBS.

Several references will be activated, waiting for the weather conditions to cooperate for the weekends ahead.

In line with the SOTA activations, the POTA and WFF programs will also be activated according to the location of the activated SOTA reference.

We count on everyone’s presence, so we can raise the name of Pedro Carvalho CT1DBS | CU3HF (SK) to the highest peak.

Hi Nuno,

It’s hard to believe that it’s five years since Pedro passed away. I met Pedro and Joao CT7ABE in Lisbon in 2015 and spent a very enjoyable evening with them. We were relatively new activators so it was great to share experiences. He was a cw activator and encouraged me to learn the code properly. I did manage a single S2S with him. It was with sadness that I heard the news of his passing.

We remember him fondly. I hope to work your special callsign over the next two weekends.
