There’s something a bit odd going on with the colours of the latest spots at the moment. UTC 23:40 or so, and the spots shown below are not red as I’d expect, but black…
Wed 23:39 VX1MDC on VK1/AX-034 (Posted by VK1MDC) 7.100 ssb
Wed 23:35 VK1AX on VK1/AC-034 (Posted by VK1MDC) 14.200 ssb
Wed 23:34 VK1NAM on VK1/AC-037 (Posted by VK1MA) 7.080 ssb
Wed 23:30 AX1IRC on VK1/AC034 (Posted by VK1IRC) 7.085 ssb
Wed 23:26 AX1IRC/P on VK1/AC-034 (Posted by VK2JI) 7.085 ssb
I’ll keep an eye on them, and see whether they change colour shortly…
…and at 00:04 UTC the colours have changed. These are now red:
Wed 23:51 VK1NAM/P on VK1/AC-037 (Posted by VK3YY) 7.080 ssb
Wed 23:46 VK1MDC on VK1/AC-034 (Posted by VK1MDC) 7.200 ssb
Wed 23:39 VX1MDC on VK1/AX-034 (Posted by VK1MDC) 7.100 ssb
Wed 23:35 VK1AX on VK1/AC-034 (Posted by VK1MDC) 14.200 ssb
…and these are amber:
Wed 23:34 VK1NAM on VK1/AC-037 (Posted by VK1MA) 7.080 ssb
Wed 23:30 AX1IRC on VK1/AC034 (Posted by VK1IRC) 7.085 ssb
Wed 23:26 AX1IRC/P on VK1/AC-034 (Posted by VK2JI) 7.085 ssb
I noticed this as well, but read the times, saw the call signs and worked 'em anyway.
Yeah, I noticed the times, but mainly because I was looking out for VK callsigns. I tried listening for them. There were stronger stations speaking (I think) Spanish on 7.090, and I could only catch snatches from some of the others (and nothing workable) here just outside Perth. I was surprised not to hear anything from the one on 14.200 though; even if 40 metres wasn’t getting over here I’d have expected 20 metres to make it.
I noticed this at least a year ago - it seems to be related to the change of clocks.
Figures. Probably related to the known “age of posts” problem also connected with the clock change. I only noticed this one this time because I’m in Australia at present, and I’m particularly interested in spots at around midnight UTC…
…oh, and because this laptop (which travels around a bit) has been firmly instructed that it shall keep UTC+0 in all circumstances, and not mess with any other timezone, ever.
