Could the string not be attached at the top ? Then the knots are at the bottom end …

Hi Romain.
Here my solution for rocky soils.
Use a pvc pipe for the whip and for the supporting I use a parasol stand (cheap and not so heavy)

I have the same and it is easy to use and tune. The only thing (I read that you are using 2.5m radials instead 5m) you will need the 5m radials for 30 and 40.

Thank you for letting me know about the PAC12 jpc-7 coil.
I was inspired to make one myself using cube nuts. It’s better than I expected.

Received this morning:

Hi mm0fmf ,
Your order XXXXXXXXXX has cleared customs.

So has mine :grinning:

I should have posted an affiliate link

I’m trying to find a way to replace the original base/feedpoint with a feedpoint/base/coil.

Required features:

  • M10 female nuts up and down
  • Variable coil 0 - 15 uH
  • lightweight (<200g)
  • BNC connector

Using an empty spool, I built one myself. It’s working great, but it’s bulky and heavy.

This 3D design could do the job maybe:

Maybe we could modify it to be compatible with BNC socket.

I also needed an adapter to 3/8-24 but found on the M10 needed was M10-1.5 mm thread. Fortunately rather available from a commercial hardware supplier, Cost of the whip + adapter was still less than HALF the cost of buying a similar whip from a US Company with the 3/8-24 threads.

Mine arrived yesterday - I will try it out on Thursday on G/WB-004

I hope yours wasn’t delivered by Evri :frowning:

I heard a car / van arrive, dog started barking. Funny no ringing of the doorbell but it’s Evri, he’ll leave it at the door and ring bell when he has taken a photo. Ran down stairs from upstairs office.

No the stupid ba****d was pushing it through the letterbox and bent it. Despite me shouting stop he kept pushing because he spoke no English. FFS :sob:

It was shipped in a soft padded bag and has been delivered pre-broken. Refund requested.

That’s not good. My phone told me mine was put in my wood shed at 0830. My evri lady, Marilyn, is a superstar.

Your challenge today @MM0FMF Andy, it’s to get to my house before I do. Then it’s yours.

I fail to understand why the driver would not do what they all do, put it on doorstep and photograph it. Then ring the bell then drive off as fast as possible.

Complaint to Evri for all the use that will do. Complaint to AliExp and I’ve got a refund label to download and can send it back for refund. Odd the packing was so poor as I have bought assorted tat from AliExpress and it’s always come adequately packed.

Thanks for the offer but I don’t think I can get to yours and get far enough away even in a Pagani Zonda before you return from work !

Now that would be worth a try!

A lad (rich oil worker) in Aberdeen had a Zonda. I heard/saw it on the road a couple of times. He’d agreed to let a journalist drive it for a car magazine review. The journalist crashed it and the repair bill became the UK’s largest ever car insurance claim, overtaking the £600k it took to repair Rowan Atkinsons MacLaren F1, when he stuffed it into a tree.

The payout was actually over £900k. But that won’t be the largest ever since personal injury claims can be many millions when a victim is seriously injured.

EDIT: Apparently £28 million.

Mine was … but the guy rang the bell and waited. It arrived in a sturdy cardboard box, all in good shape

Mine hasn’t turned up yet. Tracking says it’s “in transit”. Maybe in another month or two….

These items are not sold or despatched by Ali Express, which like EBay is an advertising integrator and handles no products ever.

While most people know that, such purchases should not be described as buying “from Ali express” or “from EBay” because they are nothing of the sort. Buying from an unknown advertiser on Ali Express, more like. No wonder they are delivered in a convenient S, Z or J shape. Oh yes, there is also Q.

Pendantically yours,

Ali is a marketplace. Items are not sold by them but they definitely dispatch most of them. I always buy, if possible, items with free shipping and 10 days delivery. Those are shipped by Ali.

When in the cart, you will see that items are divided in two sections, “shipped by global sellers” and “shipped by AliExpress”.
