LUS - Argentina - La Rioja
New association with 506 summits. Note that regions LL and VE have a summer bonus period whereas the other regions get a winter bonus. Thanks to Alejandro, LU1MAW, and new AM Matias, LU4SCM.
3DA - Eswatini
New association with 25 summits. Thanks to Sid, ZS5AYC, for taking this on. Note that we’ve been limited by avaialble mapping mostly to the periphery. Also the naming is a bit sparse. Hopefully we’ll get to fill in some more later.
3B8 - Mauritius
New association with 29 summits. Thanks to Ashwin, 3B8GL, for taking the AM role and for getting us good, lidar-based, elevation data.
EA2/NV-090
The latest high-resolution lidar data confirmed that we had misidentified the true high point of Montejurra. Because the corrected activation zone does not stretch to the old summit we are retiring EA2/NV-090 in favour of new ref EA2/NV-190. Note that this means the vértice at the old summit is not within the new activation zone, and you will have to operate from the true high point for a valid activation. Thanks to Ignacio EA2BD for bringing this to our attention and to Cruz EA2AQ.

W1
The W1 association is getting quite a few tweaks this month, including some new summits and a few retirements.
Most of the retiring summits are being replaced by new refs (where there is a new ref note that this means your old operating position will not be within the new AZ and you will have to find a position valid for the new AZ).

Note that W1/DI-002 is being retired immediately with W1/DI-008 taking over from 1st August. This is to remove an ambiguity in the listing. Whilst the listed elevation was correct the coordinates were taking ops to Knight Nubble, a subsidiary summit. Don’t worry whether you activated there or at the true high point – the activations / chases will stand – but please use the new ref from the correctly identified high point from now on.
Other retirements / replacements are provisionally scheduled for 31st Jan / 1st Feb.
