Association and Summits in Oman

Not sure why SQ9MDN deleted the post but I think the way how it works is: Contact the SOTA Team via the form: https://www.sota.org.uk/Contact [grafik] Based on requests from other countries that want to join the SOTA programm the main issues is the availability of accurate maps. Especially for naming summits but even more important to apply the 150 m elevation prominance rule. This meas that all qualified summits in a region need to be made available. Cherry picking just some summits is not …

Or short:

• No official maps that are good enough available
• No DEM data that is good enough (to check the P150 rule with a low enough error rate)
• Way to many summits to do a quick evaluation
• No association manager to put all the data together and manage it with the SOTA MT

And with Oman not being a CEPT country maybe lower motivation to establish something there.
