Apologies for confusing alert

I want to apologize for a confusing alert yesterday. I was activating two summits in north Georgia, Big Cedar Mountain (W4G/NG-023) and Black Mountain (W4G/NG-022), which are about an hour’s hike apart. I activated W4G/NG-023 first. When I was preparing to leave the summit, I sent an SMS activation post that I was QRT and heading to the next summit. What I meant to send was:

“WB8ICQ W4G NG023 7.065 CW QRT TKS ALL MOVING TO NG022”

Unfortunately, I cut and pasted from a SMS message I used in an activation in Virginia two months ago, and forgot (mea culpa) to change the summit code. So what I actually sent was:

“WB8ICQ W4V RA008 7.065 CW QRT TKS ALL MOVING TO NG022”

For all the chasers who worked me, rest assured that I really was in north Georgia the entire time, and you really did work me on Big Cedar Mountain (W4G/NG-023) and Black Mountain (W4G/NG-022). My entries in the database will show those two summits.

I apologize for the confusion.
73,
Scott WB8ICQ
