#ALERT# Planned activation for Mount Le Conte W4T

I am planning on an activation attempt of MT Le Conte W4T/SU-003 in the Smokey Mountains tomorrow. I know that the bands will be crazy with the contest so I plan on attempting to operate on 17M SSB.

I am estimating an activation time between 1500 and 1600 UTC. I don’t know how long this hike will take, never hiked Le Conte before!

I will be trying out APRS for the first time. I will be using my phone enroute to the trail head and then my radio for APRS on the trail. I hope this will help the chasers look for me and give a better estimate on my summit time.

I hope to work as many of you as possible. Once on the summit I may also play a bit on a few other bands.
