Yesterday I decided to do the summit of Gisborough Moor G/TW-003 which I have done many times as its one of 3 local summits in my area .
I left home a little later than normal due to the weather here at the moment and using 2 local buses to get to Guisborough I popped into the local store to get a few supplies for lunch .
The climb up through the forest was not easy going then I got onto the moor with plenty of snow on the ground
I slowly made my way and eventually got setup with the Yaesu FT891 / Slidewinder DX antenna by M1ECC antenna’s and the trusted 22ah Lifepo battery running 50w
Nice photos Carl and well done on all the QSO’s. My lad lives in Middlesborough and G/TW-003 isn’t too far out of the way when I go visit him. I need to get my act together and organise it.
Merry Christmas and and the best for the New Year.
Interested in your antenna arrangement. I assume that it’s a spike in the ground holding it upright?
What is the extension rod at the base of the antenna? I guess that effectively makes it mid-loaded (which to my understanding is slightly more efficient than the usual base-loaded configuration).
