The last and definitive kick for me to really start with SOTA back in May 2017 was Tom Benz, HB9DPR. He gave a lecture on SOTA for our local Radio Club of Lucerne and talked about the variety of this magic adventure. I was thrilled to explore this new hobby and felt like I was the only listener. Thanks! Tom is “Mr. HB15SOTA” at present since he manages the special callsigns for our club HB9SOTA as well as their awards.
Tom is still on the summits. A day trip to the Black Forest has brought him a 2nd Mountain Goat today. So congratulations on your success, Tom, and continue to enjoy what you like so much: your summits on the air!
