I was warned that some (particularly men) who dedicate their lives mainly to their jobs can go off the rails in retirement with a sense of lack of purpose.

That won’t be an issue for me. My career choices were based on having enough money and flexibility to enjoy my many hobbies and interests. Three weeks in, and my to-do list is getting longer rather than shorter.

Those men clearly haven’t found amateur radio.
