Lovely to work you today…the second contact with you today was my very first Summit to Summit…took Lorraine and litte Grace up on top today and had a lovely picnic in beautiful surroundings…little Grace has been saying all night, Daddy Daddy can we climb the mountain again…didnt dare tell her it was just a pimple.
Derek…likewise…always love getting into the Lake district…I wonder if you live in the Lake District or were just visiting…the only reason I ask is I am interested in seeing the rebuilt Bluebird making its maiden voyage and hopefully being allowed to go fast enough to get it up on the hydroplanes.
Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did yesterday.
Hi Russ,
I am fairly handy for the Western Fells as my home QTH is on the high ground above and east of Whitehaven, the view from the back of the house contains Ennerdale valley plus surrounding fells. ( can also see Black Combe from the landing window)
Your mention of Bluebird brought back memories of me going to Coniston to watch one of Donald Campbells test runs which didn’t happen and getting caught in a snow storm on the way back home, not very nice on a motorbike.
