Why don't VKs/ZLs use CW more?

Gerard,

I heard u very weakly on Sunday Jan 15th when u were working NS7P. You were not strong enough to work unfortunately. I was on W7A/MN-070 at the time. So there is hope…

Hopefully things will improve as we move towards March/April and we will be able to make an s2s QSO.

Hey Gerard, well, only 8 summits so what do you expect
Propagation was indeed lousy and Mot’s only spot was on 17M and that was over before I noticed it. Not sure if I saw your alerts and spots, but I hope you’ll keep trying. Mornings work best. We’re also trying to raise interest in SOTA in Okinawa. Mot-san sent a short article to the local JARL for posting on the website.

I’ve worked over 800 SOTA VK contacts on SSB from the UK, every last one from a summit, almost 100 of them S2S, without a single computer generated spot. If I’m unable to spot, I go as near to a recognised SOTA frequency as possible and put out a CQ.

Hi Steve. I am 100% CW but due to time diffs and low power (between 1 and 4 watts) I find DX contacts unusual.
