The largest mountain in England

Just watched the last episode of Wainwright’s walks on BBC2. This one was in the Lake district to Scafell Pike if I’m not mistaken.

Not an easy climb if you ask me but what a stunning scenery !!

Anyone done this summit?

I enjoyed the program, too! I have climbed this peak many times but never by that route, which I had previously dismissed as too long and uninteresting - after seeing that program I will probably give it a try!

Hi Peter

I have done this route many times, last time out my 9 year old granddaughter Charlotte (10 last week) did it with me. Always go that way, not as popular as via Styhead Tarn and so not as crowded, until you get to the summit!
Coming back down i usually return via the corridor route and then styhead. Charlotte enjoyed it and we are waiting to return to activate it again, via the same route. Parking at Seathwaite Farm is quite good if you get there early enough in the summer, during autumn and winter there is no problem.
