Excellent reporting Phil,
Great pictures in great country. Wish I knew the derivation of Penvalla (Super hill and setting). I looked, but did not find it. Pen is old Welsh for flat (hill) and appears in several border hill descriptions. Valla sounds Norse but do not know.

Many thanks for the excellent report and photos Phil and the contact from Cademuir. I was surprised to see Cademuir denuded - much better for 2m which proved to be a no-go when Paul and I activated the summit. I was hoping for a Complete with Penvalla, but conditions were not running in my favour at that time of day.
