Problems posting to reflector

Hi, just trying to add a post to a thread on the reflector and I get the following message:

“We had a problem inserting the post into the database”

Funnily I had no problem posting this message to a new thread

See if you have any apostrophes, if so remove them and try again.

Ah! Thanks Brian. I vaguely remember something about this.

This is definitely discriminating against any grocer`s using the system!

If its Grocer Jack I will discriminate with enthusiasm!

Could the error message not be changed to something like

“Your post has been rejected because it contains an apostophe”?

Rick

In reply to M0RCP:

No.

The error message will be replaced by fixing the problem. That will happen when the man who provides it all for free has a moment to sort it.

In reply to MM0FMF:

No error message here - just no posts. Will have to try again.

Perhaps the ability to post with apostrophes could be made a Premium Feature to raise funds?

Its easy to miss: in small print just above the Sotawatch 2 heading.

No error message came up at any time here Brian. My posts just got swallowed up. Maybe FireFox blanked the response. Still, it is not a problem now we know how to circumvent the issue. At least we can still post smileys

As a workaround you can utilise the inverted comma on the key to the left of number 1 on UK keyboards rather than the apostrophe bellow the @ sign on the right hand side of the keyboard.

Thus - Connah`s Quay

Just a ‘note’ to say that the standard keyboard apostrophe’s in post’s DO work and WILL be accepted by the reflector - if you know’s how

Have fun!

Thanks for the ‘tip’ Rob
