Plynlimon Today

Sunny, but chilly wind when I arrived at the summit. Saw that Adrian was on 10 metres on The Wrekin and gave him a call for an S2S. He reported considerable QSB, which was strange as his signal was rock solid. Later discovered that my autotuner was continually trying to retune on this band - removal of power sorted it. A QSY to 28.460 brought in another 6 QSOs, but another, with a EA1 station, failed as we crossed transmission and I didn’t copy his report - several attempts to get a repeat failed. QSY to 20 metres brought in another 11 QSOs, including two from the Azores. 40 metres only brought in another 4. By this time the wind had strengthened if anything, the cloud was down and it was time to go. I only walked out of it by the old mine workings.
