For those who wonder why I went suddenly QRT in the middle of a huge pile up at ON/ON-004 today …. a visit of a forest keeper who was convinced that Franz and I were a threat for his forest forced us to stop immediately and to move to another location. Later, on a new location within the activation zone, 160m was successfully activated. More news on this will follow in the SOTA news of April.

Sorry you had problems with the Forest warden. I was very pleased to make a contact with you on 160M. You were quite weak, but readable. What power level were you using on 160M?.

Power on 160 was 100W from a 17Ah slab. The antenna was a 6m vertical, base loaded coil and 3 counterpoise wires of 20m each. Thanks for the contact Frank!

Thanks for the explanation Peter. I was one of many causing the pile up on 40M and I wondered why you suddenly went QRT as you were quite strong with me. I look forward to reading more about your encounter with the forest keeper in April SOTA news!
