The next one for me to do is that horrible day last year on Tal y Fan. For once I am not looking forward to writing up my memories of a SOTA activation…
The new ones are: Great Orme NW-070, Moel y Gamelin NW-042, Cyrn-y-Brain NW-043, Little Mell Fell LD-037, Great Mell Fell LD-035, Shining Tor SP-004 (x2), Gun SP-013, The Cloud SP-015 and Kinder Scout SP-001.
Only 16 more “summit stories” to catch up with now; I’ll have to get out and do some activating!
Shining Tor SP-004, Holyhead Mountain NW-069, Mynydd Bodafon NW-071, Gyrn Moelfre NW-049, Rhialgwm NW-046, Y Golfa NW-061, Allt y Main NW-059, Mynydd Rhyd Ddu NW-073, Foel Goch NW-039, Ingleborough NP-005, Raw Head SP-016, Great Coum NP-011, Horse Head Moor NP-021, Buckden Pike NP-009, plus many updates on the page for The Cloud SP-015!
Still many more to do to get up-to-date. Happy reading/viewing at http://tomread.co.uk
Gun SP-013, Cold Fell NP-020, Burnhope Seat NP-003, Nine Standards Rigg NP-018, Old Man of Coniston LD-013, Snowdon NW-001, Walton Hill CE-002, Bredon Hill CE-003, Cleeve Hill CE-001, Wendover Woods CE-005 and Bardon Hill CE-004.
Even the page for The Cloud SP-015 is up-to-date with each of this year’s many activations recorded (the page is rather long, but I haven’t put many photos on so it won’t clog up any computers!).
We have activating plans for summits in the G/SE and the G/LD regions over the summer, so hopefully the website will be soon out-of-date once again!
Please visit http://tomread.co.uk - and sign the guestbook to let me know if it is of any use and/or interest.
Another batch of new summit activation pages have been added to my website. The new ones are:
The Cloud G/SP-015 (updated), Gun G/SP-013 (updated)
Moel Famau GW/NW-044, Cadair Berwyn GW/NW-012 (Mountain Goat activation), Birks Fell G/NP-031, Great Whernside GW/NW-008, Great Knoutberry Hill G/NP-015.
The ON father-and-son activators have reminded me that I also have a new video on YouTube. It is nothing special, just Jimmy M3EYP descending the ridge off Cadair Berwyn. Nothing amazing about the “action”, but the surroundings are absolutely beautiful. The link is on the Cadair Berwyn page in my website http://tomread.co.uk
Now to put links to my newly published summit pages onto SOTAwatch - in the summit info pages. (I love using these SW2 pages for information and tips while planning a trip - does anyone use them for planning?).
In reply to M1EYP:
Hell fire Tom, there are more adverts for your site in this thread than content, are running a pay per click service on your website !!! lol or HI
It was never that bad for me - they all loaded up pretty quickly, both on the home and work PCs, and that included newly updated pages, so not the case that a local cache was being recalled. However, you were not the only one who expressed losing the will to live while waiting for my webpages, so I decided to do something about it!
But the new host - recommended by MW0IDX and GM4ZFZ - is much better, and my big long pages with loads of photos load instantly now on my PCs.
I hope to have a new batch of uniques summit pages to add on there in a week or so, after my sortie down south. I hope the forecast heavy rains don’t make it a complete wash-out!
