New from the mountains of NC, USA

Hi, my name is Mark. I’ve been licensed for about 3 years as a tech. I live in the shadows of all these summits and I love hiking so I’m mixing my interests. I’m upgrading my license to General soon and saving for a KX3. I’m just listening now but soon I’ll be activating from the tops of over 300 local mountains.

Hi Mark, welcome aboard, it sounds as though you are in the right place!

Hi Mark

Welcome aboard!
Be aware because Sota is so “addictivation” !

Once you try it, you love it!

Welcome to SOTA, Mark! You definitely have a great QTH for activating. You really ought to jump in and try a VHF activation while you are waiting on your upgrade. The I-81 corridor has a lot of VHF chasers. Pick a good summit in that area and you should have a nice activation, especially on a weekend. And you are always welcome to join me on an activation as well.

Welcome Mark !
Will be listening for you. You might check out the just released KX2 as well.
