Weather was nice again today and after lunch with all my kids, who had a day off school today due to carnival, I raised an alert on SOTAwatch and left home to the top of Mt. Elomendi.

This is a very prominent mountain with the summit at nearly 1300m a.s.l. and the base at about 450m a.s.l. but there is a broken road up to its top, so I could drive up with the help of my AWD car.

When I got to the summit, this was the great view of the SOTA Mt. Itzaga EA2/NV-029 with a blur view of the Pyrenees covered with snow far in the distance.

I set up with my 10m long endfed wire as a sloper and the usual 6m long counterpoise wire at the very edge of the slope towards the NorthWest, which is the direction to North-America and I operated comfortably seating while enjoying the great views.
The rig was my usual FT-817ND at 5W and the MFJ-941B antenna tuner.

The only problems were the QRM from the many commercial antennas in the huge tower and the wind, which was not too cold and not too strong, but after 2 hours being exposed, it took its toll and I got cold. However, it was a great SOTA day.

The activation went as follows:
- 20m CW: 21 QSOs in 28 minutes, 10 of which were DX with the USA. I was called by @NE4TN, I sent him signal report but he never came back. Later he called me back, I sent him signal report again but he never showed up again. It happened the same later with @W2SE at about 15h59. Shame of QSB…
- 30m CW: 13 QSOs in 18 minutes.
- 40m CW: 16 QSOs in 17 minutes.
- 20m CW: 12 QSOs in 16 minutes, 7 of which were DX with the USA. The first QSO in this second pass on the 20m band was a S2S with Frandy @N1FJ activating W1/CR-013. The great moment of the day!

When no more chasers were coming back to my CQ calls, the Sun was pretty low and after having spent 2 hours in the wind of this summit at 1300m a.s.l. I was starting to feel cold, so I called it a day, but before packing up and descending, I took some pictures of the new views from my operating position after 2 hours.
>Cuando no más cazadores volvían a mis llamadas CQ, el Sol estaba bastante bajo y tras haber estado 2 horas en el viento de esta cima a 1300m sobre el nivel del mar, estaba empezando a sentirme frío, así que di el día por terminado, pero antes de recoger y descender, tomé algunas fotos de las nuevas vistas desde mi posición de operación después de 2 horas.
