Gut feel - it’s a physically smaller battery (fits inside the FT817 bay) - so chargiing it at half the capability of the balanced charger, seemed to make sense. I only charge via the balanced charger connection of course.
The fact that one cell shows low when I turn off the charger is new - previously al stayed at, at least 98% if not 100% on the monitpr mode. Hence my thought that one cell is slowly giving up. I actually have a second identical LIPO and that one is still OK on all three cells, but the one that is giving up (I think) has been used the most both are over 3 years old.
