My Report from holyday in summer 2016 OK Orlicke hory Bergkurier 2016/107 (only in German)
I will spend one week later in the same region (19.2. - 24.2.) combining cross-country skiing with SOTA. Will watch your experiences. Been there in 2008 and 2010 in Sommer and 2011 in Winter, allways many successful activations on 2 m FM.

In the middle of the week was blue sky and sunshine, temperature in the night below zero on the day in the sun + 2 ° C. Beautul days! The snow melted, but still 1 / 2m. On friday there was rain, during the night and saturday wet snow fell. But there is still enough snow.
On Tuesday and Wednesday was very good conditions on VHF
From OK / KA-001 Loc. JO60lj> OM6DC Loc.JN98ku = ODX 460km 2m FM!
My experience at all the summits is: Very few stations from OK. Why?
Hamradio is international. In OK I am guest and look forward to station from there.
Many stations from DL are to work on 145.425MHz FM verical: ‘Sächsicher Bergwettbewerb’ ( ‘Saxon Mountain Award’ ) http://www.dl2lto.de/sc/index_sbw.htm (only in German)
Also monday to friday are many stations active, some on mountains, others at home.
