Beautiful activation on a wonderful day of hiking and radio. Cima del Palone is very close to the Northern Grigna, the most frequented mountain by hikers from Milan. On Sundays, a long line of hikers climb up this beautiful peak. My wife and I choose instead a not so famous summit, above the Bogani Refuge, which we ascend in complete solitude. Last stretch quite exposed and climbed with caution. It was a fast activation, we wanted to get off early to avoid Sunday traffic to the city, anyway with 11 qsos (5 S2S). During the descent we saw on the path a boulder with some fossils, readily photographed.
