High pressure

i know 144 mhz you can do some dx with the high pressure. But does 40 meters have the same. As im out and about tomorrow. Just wondering if 40 would be ok for inter ‘g’ steve m0sgb

Not really Steve, using 40 metres for good reliable “inter g” working depends more on the critical frequency of the F2 layer which rarely climbs high enough at this point in the Sunspot cycle. High pressure does favour better conditions on the VHF/UHF bands though & on Wednesday evening I could hear GB3WN in Wolverhampton fairly strongly at times on the same frequency as my local 70cms repeater GB3PF here in Blackburn.

Wherever you are out tomorrow, have fun, it looks like you should have good weather.
