I would like to inform you about the death of my
dear father Fritz Zwingli (Papa Fritz) HB9RE.
He died on Dec 19, 2009 at the age of 81 years.
I am happy about the wonderful time I spent with him
as a son and a radio-friend, and would like to say
THANK-YOU to all SOTA friends for the wonderful
time he had with you.
Vy73 all the best for you and your families
Fritz Junior HB9CSA,DL4FDM
I am really sorry to hear about your loss. Long before I got involved with SOTA I often worked Fritz on 10m and exchanged 10-10 numbers and chapter information. My sincere condolences to you Fritz, and to the rest of the family.
I am very sorry to hear this sad news. I am proud to have worked your father on several of my SOTA activations. The first time was 0913 on 13 May 2007, 40m CW on The Cloud G/SP-015, a memorable activation for me as it was my first time as an activator on CW. The last time was nearly one year ago, 30th December 2008, 80m CW on Aye Gill Pike G/NP-023. In between he worked me on several other summits, including GW, GM and GI. His support was always deeply appreciated.
I offer my sincere condolences to you, and your family, at this difficult time.
In reply to HB9CSA:
Dear Fritz
It is a really sad news to read early in the morning. I’m glad to say that I worked him many times.
My sincere condolences to you and your family.
I´m very sorry to hear this sad news this morning.
I had many nice QSO´s with him, not only from SOTA-summits.
My sincerest condolences to you and your family.
Fritz I am very sorry to hear about your father passing away especially at this time of year. Please accept my sincere condoleces from myself & family.
In reply to HB9CSA:
Very sorry to hear of your loss Fritz. Worked him many times and he was a real ‘Gentleman of the air’.
Kindest regards and best wishes.
What more can I add to the list of tributes above? The number of replies in such a short space of time shows just how much Fritz meant to the SOTA community. He will be much missed in the pile-ups.
