Apologies to the chasers who were trying to work me on 40m this morning.
Armed with only the modest 6m fishing pole antenna, I managed to work just one station G0RQL, Don in Devon, despite calling for about ten minutes. I heard one other station calling me, but was unable to make the copy. John G1STQ, left his station to tell me that some of the 2m chasers were trying to call me, however, I could hear nothing.
I then qsy’d to 17m, self spotted and worked about eight of the European regulars, before the band dried up. My last throw of the dice was 15m, however, with the exception of one contact into VK and a couple of Europeans this proved almost fruitless too.
Band conditions were not that hot, so I chucked the towel in at about 1245 with just 15 contacts on HF.
At least the 3 winter bonus points made me feel a bit better

I would also like to thank the chasers yesterday and appologise to any station who tried to work me. Conditions not too good.
Having sacrificed my own activation to help ‘The Moaning One’ and his aerial problems…he then goes and rubs my nose in it with a 5/9 to Skippy in Queensland.

Oi, I don’t get this sort of grief from M0TUB or G4XEE…
