Halloween Activation

Monitoring 145.500fm on Halloween evening at 2045 hrs I was surprised to hear 2e0xlg/p calling CQ Sota and as it was pitch black outside, I thought it was a wind up, but no, it was Chris calling CQ from Pendle Hill and on Halloween, fantastic!!

I was the first contact with him and he did manage after a lot of effort to cajole at least another 3 stations to make the activation.

Well done Chris, it was a great SOTA on Halloween and sorry your batteries failed, ha ha, they must have got SPOOKED.

Heh! Good one. Not exactly the time of day one might expect an activation from this part of the world, especially with the clocks having gone backā€¦

Particularly spooky as the visibility in the mist during daylight hours yesterday (never mind in the dark when Chris was activating) was only about 15m at the trig point with people in Halloween outfits appearing quite suddenly out of the murk, then disappearing just as rapidly.
