G4YSS: G/TW-004 on 160m & 20m, 13-03-18

The HuMPs scheme was created after a group of activators failed to persuade the MT to change SOTA in the UK from P150 to P100 to increase the number of summits available. It was created without reference to or input from the SOTA MT.

The idea of GU and GJ Associations was first mooted about ten years ago and was shelved because no local hams would take on the task of forming and running the Associations, and at that time it was MT policy that the AMs should be resident in their Associations.

As the SOTA Associations in PA and OZ are already P100 I’m a little surprised that it has taken this long as all that was necessary was to adapt the SOTA database.

Nobody has asked for permission to use our data yet.

This shows how popular my nearest hump is.

Whose data?

Hi john Maybe next time you do a late evening activation like this a message on here the day before may bring a few more of us on 73 Geoff

Thanks Geoff,

You are right. People usually look at alerts the evening before. My alert went on the same morning. Thanks for your reply here though,

73, John.
