G4WSB Mountain Goat

Having worked Bill today on G/SC-008 under the Woofferton Aerial Group Club call of G3WOF/A! I asked Bill that he must be near his Mountain Goat, He came back saying that he had already got it!

I have seen no postings on the reflector regarding it! So I thought I would start a thread!

So many congratulations to Bill on his very quick achievement in the Hobby!! That must be one of the records for MG in terms of Time and regions activated! I bet that if the Channel Islands had SOTA summits he would have done them as well HI

Cheers for all the natters on VHF Bill! Furthermore cheers for the unexpected visit from you whilst we were both on Worcestershire Beacon in May 2010!!

73 bring on the double MG!!

In reply to 2E0XTL:

In fact the Channel Islands do have some summits at P100, but as yet nobody has expressed an interest in forming an Association!

Well done, Bill.

Congratulations Bill. Very well done!

I had a feeling you had achieved your MG when I worked you on Shining Tor - I knew there were a couple of summits not yet logged but wasn’t sure of the points.

Nice to hear you back on again, I was getting worried! Good to work you today, many thanks for the points.

Ah!!!

What is Bills callsign, Matt?
The reason I ask is… I worked someone from Shining Tor, IIRC last weekend, who told to me that he was glad that he caught me, as the 2 points he just collected, gave him MG status.

I congratulated him on his achievment and he thanked me.

Doh!!!

My brain hurts

I’m just going through the log but can’t seem to find Bills call on a S2S.

Just wondering if it was someone that has just got Shack Sloth status who worked me on Shining Tor?

Sorry to miss you on Shining Tor

The plan was to stay for the day and work some HF (out of the question with the Hf contest as John G1STQ found out on the Cloud, later.) However, it was bitterly cold up there and when John suggested we meet up at McDonalds in Congleton, then head for SP-015 Cloud, it was a no-brainer for me. The 2 double cheeseburgers and coffee went down a treat.

What’s wrong with 10MHz,18MHz or 24MHz ?

They were awash with the refugees from the other bands. 17m was unworkable, Mark G0VOF was chasing up and down the band trying to find a space to work John. I think John then qsy’d to 12m where IIRC, he finaly worked a single station in GW. I then gave him my 857, to qualify the summit on 2m.

Sadly, the 817 was no match for the the kilowatt stations on the WARC bands today.
