Friedrichshafen: Presentation by the Graz Morse Code School

The Graz Morse Code School will be giving a presentation at Friedrichshafen this year, details below:

Modern Techniques for the Acquisition of Morse Code

Lecture: Ham Radio Friedrichshafen, Lichtenstein Room, Saturday, 15.07.2017, 16:30 hours
Speakers: Gerhard Ranftl OE6RDD (German), Matthew Pullan OE6FEG/M0FEU (English)
Information: http://www.oe6.oevsv.at

Developed by MMag. Gerhard Ranftl, OE6RDD, an experienced music teacher and Very High Speed Club Member (VHSC 432), this completely new system has been applied successfully in the Graz Morse Code School since 2012. The Graz Morse Code School was founded in 2012 by OE6VWG.

From the very first evening, the participants learn to copy Morse code in blocks, and instead of sending with a straight key, only ever use a paddle.

Many different facets of telegraphy are explored - in both theory and practice - within the framework of the course: SOTA, DX-ing, contesting and the ability to read text in Morse, among other things.

Course Objectives:
• Ability to copy Morse in one’s head.
• Send Morse with a paddle.
• Copy abbreviations and Q-codes.
• Copy Standard-QSO´s.
• Ability to send off the top of one’s head.
• Copy and write down Morse characters at 60 CPM.
• Ability to undertake all CW related activities independently.
• Copy and type in callsigns.

Lernziele:
• Gehörlesen von Morsezeichen
• mit Paddle Morsezeichen geben
• Gehörlesen von Abkürzungen und Q-Gruppen
• Gehörlesen von Standard-QSO´s
• aus dem Gedächtnis geben
• Morsezeichen niederschreiben bei Tempo 60 BPM
• Alle CW-Funkaktivitäten selbstständig durchführen
• Rufzeichen hören und eintippen
