Hi friends,
We are back home…!
We activated 9 summits from the 12th to the 21st of September. In the AM region, it’s almost impossible to activate more than one summit a day because of the altitude and the distance that separates the summits.
In addition to our own calls, we used the F8UFT call of the “Union Française des Télégraphistes” as well as the TM8CDX call of the Clipperton DX Club.
We climbed summits from 2,000 to more than 3,200 metres high. At this height, the wind, the cold and the tiredness after several hours walking often caused us CW problems. Sitting with frozen fingers on more or less stable rocks and the station on the floor, it’s not as easy to manipulate as when you’re sitting, nice and warm, in our shack.
Thanks to all the operators with whom we made “S2S”.
To finish, let us tell you that even at 2,500 metres high, it’s still nice to hear a “GM” or a “BJR” and receive “73s” and “GLs” rather than a quick “599TU”. We’re not “Four and down” supporters and we like to share friendly and encouraging words. Unfortunately, we noticed that all SOTA hunters do not share this point of view. Points are good, but the “ham spirit” is better.
See you soon from new summits.
73 and thanks to all of you.
