Comments on the Alinco DJ-G7 tribander please

Hi,

is anyone using the DJ-G7 for 2/70/23 SOTA operation and would be so kind to comment on quality of build, performance and handling?

The manufacturer states that the housing is equal to IPX-7 standard, which would be a plus. Is the 23cm “option” worth the money?

There was a review of the Alinco DJ-G7 in the Aug 2009 edition of RadCom, I will e-mail you a copy.

The thing to remember is that it is FM only so might limit to usefulness

Hi Peter,

many thanks, the review will be very much appreciated! FM will be fine, the handheld will mostly be used on summits where it is impossible to carry and set up any HF rig, as a “bad weather device” and for backup purposes.
