Cheap 10Ah SLABs

I shall be trading at the Radio Active Rally, Nantwich, this Sunday coming (6 Feb).

For any SOTA supporters in attendance, I have procured quantity of “brand new” 10Ah SLABS. If you mention SOTA, they will be yours for £13.50 per cell. The cells have the same footprint as the 9Ah cells however they look about 1cm taller.

For the wimps among you who are concerned about their weight  they are a shade over 3kg, making them positively featherweight when compared to the 20Ah cell I will be using on my next Shining Tor activation (WX permitting)

“Please” don’t ask about posting them as the shipping rates on SLABs are just too prohibitive.

Not wishing to sound like a killjoy John, I really don’t want to re-mortgage my house to pay for the petrol

PS May come along… What date?

In reply to 2E0YYY:

Sunday 8th of May sounds about right to me.

£13.50 per cell.

Assuming they’re 12V batteries, £81 sounds a bit steep to me.

With apologies for pedantry…

Snowdon is a bad choice.
How about Helvellyn…no trains up there!

Mind you - I normally end up carrying it for the old man anyway, so perhaps Snowdon is not a bad choice afterall?

Hi Walt,

It would appear G1STQ is suffering from selective memory syndrome.

Was “I” not the Muppet, who lugged “his” 20Ah SLAB up Kettleshulme near Whaley Bridge last year, only to discover on connecting it to the radio, he hadn’t bothered to charge it!!!

I rest my case ;-)))))
